I was recently having a discussion with a fellow developer about what’s the most important and foundational element of technology? And we agreed to just one word – DATA.
I have always been inspired by the notion of playing around with data. Whether it be visualizing, processing, finding patterns, building AI, I have handled all forms of data.
Like most kids my generation, I was introduced to computers at a very early age; I believe I learned to type before I could write. I progressed from simple educational games to simple programming in a short time. This exploration drove me to pursue Computer science in my undergrad.
Back in 2018, I joined a startup – TensaX as a Product Data scientist, with a goal to dive deep in the world of Machine Learning and AI. Involved in the story to build a 0 to 1 product which could autonomously analyze consumer facial expressions and help an FMCG company for product marketing. The first of its kind product was an Autonomous Review System, put into a compact 3D printed device, powered by state-of-the-art AI visual and verbal sentiment analysis algorithms. The device was being used by 250+ customers across different domains.
Excited to learn more, I joined the CS Master’s program at Arizona State University. Working as a Teaching assistant for the Business school, I assisted in the courses of Negotiations and International Business to over 400+ students. This experience not only sharpened my communication and leadership abilities but also deepened my understanding of how data-driven insights can positively impact decision-making in various business contexts. My tenure as a Data Scientist at Actionable Analytics lab honed my tech skills while working on state-of-the-art machine learning models. The ultimate silver lining was when my research on ‘Detecting Cyber-Adversarial Videos in Social Media’ was published in IEEE journal.
This experience reinforced my commitment to harnessing the power of data to drive meaningful results and provided me with invaluable hands-on experience in the field of ML & AI.
Building end to end frameworks, deploying cloud solutions and customizing MS Dynamics and Salesforce platforms were some of the tricks I garnered up my sleeve. Collaborating with external/internal stakeholders sharpened my product management experience allowing me to translate their key business objectives into strategies and deliverables.
As a dedicated learner, I find that my ability to quickly grasp new technologies is one of my greatest strengths. I firmly believe that with a solid foundation in programming fundamentals, one can quickly adapt to and master any technology stack. Having said that, here are a few that I am most comfortable with currently. Oh, and this list is ever-growing!
